My child has attended gymnastics before, how do I know what level my child is?If your child has had previous gymnastics or tumbling experience you may contact us to schedule an evaluation (julia@prospectgymnastics.com).

When and how do I register for classes?You can enroll in all of our classes through our website! We have four sessions throughout the year. Join our mailing list to be notified when registration opens.

Can my child participate in a trial class before we make our decision to enroll?To schedule a trial class, email info@prospectgymnastics.com. Trial classes are $30.

Can I register for a class with a specific instructor?You can inquire about our coaching schedule, but we can’t guarantee specific instructors, as they may change. We aim to keep the same instructor once the program starts, but occasional staffing changes may occur.

Can my child attend more than one class a week?Yes, you can sign up for as many classes as you wish! If you specifically want your child to move up to a higher level class, we recommend attending class twice a week or attending other Prospect Gymnastics programs in addition to regular classes.

How does the gym communicate with the families enrolled?Stay informed with time-sensitive updates via direct email from info@prospectgymnastics.com. Add us to your contacts to avoid spam filters. Make sure you sign up for our mailing list to receive the latest updates and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for last minute reminders!

What birthday party options do you offer?We offer birthday parties at both Bed-Stuy and Ditmas Park locations. Parties can include unstructured playtime for ages 4 and under and structured activities including gymnastics, parkour and cheerleading for ages 4 and up. Both options include one hour of gym time as well as 30 minutes to enjoy food. Coaches will assist with the duration of the party as well as 15 min before and after the party for set up and clean up! Bed-Stuy: All birthday parties $500 for up to 12 kids (2 coaches included) Ditmas Park: Toddler birthday party $350 for up to 12 kids (1 coach included) Gymnastics birthday party $450 for up to 12 kids (2 coaches included)

How many kids are included in the party package?Party packages include up to 12 children. In Bed-Stuy we can accommodate up to 20 kids for an additional $25 a child. In Ditmas Park we can accommodate up to 15 kids for and additional $25 a child. Please inquire if you would like to host a larger party!

Are adults allowed to participate in the party?Gymnastics parties are drop off for children 5 and up. We ask that only the birthday child’s parents and/or grandparents attend the party. Parents are welcome to hang out in our backyard or downstairs (Bed-Stuy only) during the party if they would like. Children 3 and under are required to come with a guardian.

Can I add extra time? How much?If we have the time/space available you can add time to your party at the rate of $100 every 30 min. This must be done prior to the day of your party.

Do you offer any additional activities for birthday parties?Yes please inquire if you would like an additional activity! We may be able to provide face painting, crafts and more depending on which coaches are available.

Should I tip the party host?Yes, we encourage that you tip our coaches. The standard tip is $20 per instructor!

Can I bring decorations?Yes! Please feel free to bring whatever decorations you would like. A coach will help you decorate during the 15 minute set up time.

Are paper goods provided?Yes, we provide plates, napkins, cups and cutlery. Please feel free to bring your own if you would like something specific.

What type of food is allowed at the birthday party?You are welcome to bring any food you would like to serve to your child’s birthday party. You will have 30 minutes to eat after the hour in the gym. If the weather is nice you are welcome to use our backyard at either location to eat!

How early should we arrive for the birthday party?Please arrive at your set up time. If you arrive earlier you will need to wait out side until your set up time. Birthday party guests should arrive 15 minutes after that!

What time slots do you have available for parties?Generally, we have birthday party availability on weekend afternoons. We may have additional times available over holiday breaks.

What should the kids wear to the party?Your birthday party attendees should wear comfortable clothes — t-shirt with shorts or gymnastics leotards. It’s best not to wear anything with buttons, buckles, zippers, belts or other hard objects. Also, please remove all jewelry and tie up long hair.

What if I need to change the date of my party or my party package type?A party date or package type can be switched, provided we have a date and party host available for you!

What do I need to do to reserve my party?Email our program coordinator Tami at info@prospectgymnastics.com to schedule your birthday party today! Tami will give you any information you need about payment and scheduling!

If I decide to cancel my party can you refund my deposit?Birthday party deposits are non-refundable.

What are the costs for gymnastics classes?For regular weekly gymnastics classes the price will depend on how many classes are in the session. If you are interested in being on a payment plan please email info@prospectgymnastics.com.

If I enroll late will my tuition be prorated?We do offer prorated tuition for the first 3 weeks of class and sometimes longer depending on the class. Reach out to Tami at info@prospectgymnastics.com to inquire for prorated prices.

If I enroll more than one child, do I get a discount?We offer a 10% discount to siblings who are enrolled in a class! This discount does not apply for playtime, open play, camp or workshops.

Do you offer Financial Aid?If you are interested in applying for a scholarship please email info@prospectgymnastics.com to get more information. We do our best to help when we can but we have limited scholarship funds available. If you are interested in donating towards our scholarship fund please email info@prospectgymnastics.com to get more information.

How often does the class meet and for how long?Regular gymnastics classes meet once a week. Class length varies based on age and level (4 years and under meet for 45 minutes, over 5 meet for an hour, advanced classes meet for longer and sometimes bi-weekly).

What is the class size and instructor to student ratio?Generally, classes are 8-12 students, with an instructor ratio between 1:4 – 1:8 depending on the age group.

How do I know when my child is ready to move to the next level?When your child is ready to move up, their coach will let you know. If you think it’s time for a challenge, you can reach to Julia at julia@prospectgymnastics.com for an evaluation at anytime.

What should my child wear to class?Please send your child in snug-fitting clothes like t-shirts with shorts/leggings or leotards. Please avoid loose t-shirts or dresses as they might cover their faces when they go upside down. No jewelry or hard objects, and hair should be pulled back. Children will be asked to remove their socks and shoes at the gym. No gum as it is a choking risk. Store personal items in the cubbies and mark them with your child’s name.

What age is the Parent and Tot appropriate for and do I participate with my child?Kids who can walk on their own are welcome in Parent-Tot classes. An adult (parent or caregiver) must join and actively assist their child, but can’t use the gym equipment. Both adult and child should wear comfy, button-free clothes. Please bring just one adult per child, and leave phones outside the class.

How long do class sessions last?Sessions typically last 4–16 weeks, with occasional one-time drop-in workshops and mini-camps. Longer sessions allow for more skill progression.

How do you deal with misbehavior in class?Our staff will do their best to redirect students if needed, but if safety is compromised, the child may be asked to sit out or be removed from the class. We do not tolerate teasing or bullying. Please report any concerns, and we will address such behavior through respectful communication with the class.

What is the curriculum that you follow and what kind of progress should I expect from my child?Our annual curriculum aligns with USA Gymnastics guidelines, tailored to age and skill level. Parent-Tot and Preschool Classes: Varied curriculum covers movement variety, including body positions of straight, tuck, pike, straddle and directions of forward, backwards, sideways, twist ‘n turn and upside down. Obstacle courses, balancing games, and props keep classes creative. Strength, flexibility, and balance are emphasized. Progression towards skills like rolls, handstands, bar work, and beam exercises. Preschool readiness skills integrated. Regular Gymnastics Classes: Follows USA Gymnastics basic skills and sports safety. Focuses on flexibility and conditioning. First year includes rolls, handstands, cartwheels, beam work, and bar exercises. In years 2, 3, & 4, students progress through more advanced skills with varying pace. Spring sessions may include skill sequencing and mini routines.

Do you offer private lessons?Yes, we do offer private lessons based on availability and if there is a coach and space available. Cost for a one hour private is $100 and a one hour semi-private is $150. Please contact Julia at julia@prospectgymnastics.com to book.

Do you have a competitive team?We have a recreational team. We give them the opportunity to showcase their skills through performances and competitions with other gyms with recreational teams.

Do you have a lost and found?Both locations have a lost and found bin. If you lose something feel free to stop by the gym anytime we are open to retrieve your lost item. We donate our lost and found bin at the end of every session so if you lose something be sure to get it as soon as possible.

Can my child walk home from the gym alone?Written consent is required in order for us to allow your child to leave the gym by themselves. Pleas email Tami at info@prospectgymnastics.com and we will send you an electronic form for you to fill out and sign.

What do I do if my child is sick?For the safety and health of all our students, please keep your child home if they have these symptoms: Fever Diarrhea Vomiting Lice Breathing trouble, sore throat, swollen glands, loss of voice, continuous coughing Runny nose with severe symptoms, fever, rash, difficulty breathing, or pain

If my child misses a class can I schedule a makeup class?We cannot guarantee make ups but we do our best to accommodate a maximum of two make ups per session. Please email info@prospectgymnastics.com to schedule a make-up.

If I will miss a gymnastics class, or program will Prospect Gymnastics refund that class?The fee paid reserves the student’s place in the class whether attending or not. Therefore, there are no refunds for classes missed including classes that are pre-scheduled on a holiday.

What if I want to cancel a class or other activity that I already enrolled in?Gymnastics Classes: You may cancel your class up to two weeks before the session/program for a full refund. Birthday Parties: You may cancel up to two weeks before the party date; deposits are non-refundable. Summer Camp Registration: You may cancel before June 1 for a full refund. All cancellations must be made via email for a full refund if made on time. Refunds up to 3 weeks into the program are considered on a case-by-case basis. No refunds for cancellations more than 3 weeks into a program or after the activity has passed.

What is the policy for dropping out of a gymnastics class or other activity?We understand that sometimes gymnastics class is not a fit for a child. We will consider drop-outs on a case by case basis.

Can I cancel my monthly subscription if I am enrolled in a team or pre-team program?Payment plans or monthly subscriptions are required until the program is completed. Cancellation requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. We’ll do our best to accommodate you if we can replace your spot. No cancellations for the last month or final payment of any subscriptions. To cancel, email us at info@prospectgymnastics.com.

Can a make up class be transferred between sessions?No, make up classes can not be transferred between sessions.

What is the difference between a regular gymnastics class and Team class?The team is for dedicated gymnasts, meeting twice a week for 1.5 hours. Team members participate in meets and performances, fostering confidence and community.

What is the enrollment process for Team?To join the Team, your child will begin with a coach evaluation. If it’s a good fit, we proceed with a trial. A full season commitment until June is required for Team registration.

If we miss a team practice, do we get a makeup?If you miss class, we cannot guarantee a makeup, however, you can email us to request it. A maximum or 6 make ups are allowed in the year.

What is the cancellation policy for Team?Team membership is a full season commitment. To cancel, email us. Cancellations considered case by case. A minimum one-month notice required; otherwise, a one-month cancellation fee applies. Exceptions for family and medical emergencies.

Want additional training hours?For additional training hours to complement your regular team workout, we recommend enrolling in other Prospect Gymnastics programs and stretching or conditioning at home. We also highly recommend private lessons and a 25% discount is offered for any team gymnast who would like to book a private lesson. If you think your child needs extra assistance or advice please speak to their coach.

What types of camp do you offer?We offer winter, spring, and summer break camps. We also offer mini camps on days kids are off of school. Mini camps will either be half day or full day.

How long is one camp session?Most camp sessions are a week long (Monday-Friday) and mini camps are day by day.

What are the age ranges for camp?Most full and half day camps are offered for kids ages 4 – 10 years old.

What are the details for mini camps?We generally run mini camps over holiday breaks and school closures. Mini camps fill up quickly so enroll as soon as possible. What are the details for a week long camp session?Parents drop off every day by 9 AM and pick up is at 2:30 PM. On Fridays the campers will have short performance to show parents what they have been working on throughout the week! What is the camp cancelation and refund policy?Summer camp cancellations received before June 1, will receive a full refund. All other full or partial refunds or credits are at our discretion. We will try our best to provide refunds if we can fill your spot in the camp.

Is early drop off offered?Yes! We offer early drop off starting at 8:30 am for $15 a day. You can sign up for early drop off on our website.

Is after care provided?When available you can book after care on our website. After care is offered from 2:30-5:30 at $20 an hour.

Do you provide camp meals?We do not provide any meals for campers. Campers must bring their own snack and lunch from home. Please note we have a strict no nuts policy. If your child has any food allergies please let us know before camp.

What kind of clothing should my child wear for camp?Campers should wear fitted t-shirts and shorts or leggings, avoiding baggy clothes and hard objects like buttons or zippers. For camp, slip-on shoes are recommended since we alternate going inside and outside the gym a lot.

Do you provide transportation?No we do not provide transportation.

Camp Additional info:Snacks and Meals: Pack two substantial snack, lunch, and plenty of water (no peanut butter or nut products). Campers will be active and hungry. Change of Clothes: Include a spare outfit for after workouts or water activities. Pickup Authorization: Specify the adult picking up your child at drop off. What is the general protocol for Toddler Playtime?- Sign up online before arriving - Take shoes off before entering the gym area - Only one adult per child - No food or drink on the gym floor - No adults on the equipment (Trampoline, Bars and Beam) - No toys on the trampoline

Will someone be watching my child?Parents or guardians must supervise their child at all times during Toddler Playtime. The staff members working playtime are only there to monitor the gym in general and will not necessarily be engaging with the children.

Is Toddler Playtime structured in any way?Toddler Playtime is a non structured program, children play and explore the gym how they like.

How much does Toddler Playtime cost?$20 per child.

Are multiple grown ups allowed to accompany a child?Due to space restrictions, we ask that only one adult accompanies each child.

What are the payment methods for Toddler Playtime?Please register and pay online. If you prefer to pay cash you can do so when you arrive at the gym.

What ages are Toddler Playtime appropriate for?We allow children ages 4 and under to attend playtime. The equipment is designed to aid gross motor development for toddlers that are still learning motor skills such as walking, jumping, climbing, hanging, and swinging.

What if I have a child with me that is older than the age limit?Children above age 4 aren’t allowed.

What happens if my child gets hurt?While our equipment is child-friendly and padded, injuries can happen. Please ensure your child plays safely. If they’re hesitant about a skill or equipment, avoid pushing them. We recommend not spotting your child on forward rolls and asking the instructor for assistance if needed! Children should engage in activities they feel ready to do independently. In case of minor injuries, we have a first aid kit with band-aids and ice packs available.

Do I stay and watch my child’s class or do I leave?Drop-Off Policy: All classes except parent-tot are drop-off. Please leave the gym when class starts. Arrive up to 5 minutes early. You are welcome to wait in our backyard in either location or go to a near by cafe. (Lark Cafe in Ditmas Park or Martha's Pastries and Cafe in Bed-Stuy) Parent Observation: We offer parent observation the last week of class. Dates will be emailed in advance. Pickup: Children must wait inside the gym for pickup. Please come to the gym door at dismissal for safety.

Are spectators allowed to watch the class?Only children are allowed inside the studio, except during parent observation week.
